چکیده

Applying spatial mode switching in channel adaptive MIMO systems promises to achieve high spectral efficiencies in practical system setups. Several studies have pointed out significant performance gains obtained in realistically modeled channel scenarios. We have conducted channel measurements with the Berlin LTE-Advanced Testbed operated in the city center of Berlin and used these for the performance evaluation of a spatial mode switching concept that has previously been evaluated in a linkand systemlevel simulation environment. Results from measurements and simulations are shown to be in close correspondence.

Multi-User MIMO-OFDM Cell Throughput under Real-World Propagation Conditions

In recent years, an innumerable number of papers has been published on MIMO (multiple input multiple output) systems. The original and most of the current work deals with a single link between a multi-element antenna (MEA) transmitter and a MEA receiver. However, link-level capacity gain does not necessarily translate into a similar system-level gain. Therefore, several researchers have investi...

Mode Switching for the Multi-Antenna Broadcast Channel Based on Delay and Channel Quantization

Imperfect channel state information degrades the performance of multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) communications; its effects on single-user (SU) and multiuser (MU) MIMO transmissions are quite different. In particular, MU-MIMO suffers from residual interuser interference due to imperfect channel state information while SU-MIMO only suffers from a power loss. This paper compares the through...

On Mode Adaptation for MIMO-OFDM-BICM Based on Measured Indoor Channels

This paper examines mode adaptation for MIMOOFDM-BICM systems. Our results are based on measured MIMO-OFDM channels in an indoor environment at 5 GHz. We demonstrate that a simple zero-forcing spatial multiplexing system using four transmitters and four receivers can achieve four times the SISO data rate over the real measured channels with less than 6 dB increase in SNR. We also observe that i...

Soft Switching MBC Controller for MIMO Linear Hybrid Systems

Switching supervisory is the most important section of a feedback control process inMIMO hybrid systems. By choosing a non-compatible controller, system may go tounstable mode or high overshoot response. In this paper, a new method of switchingfor selecting MBC controllers is discussed. Results of the simulation show the MIMO(2-in 2-out) linear hybrid system can be switched stable and low overs...
